Promise Land Church is having a fundraiser to help Deacon Anthony Mason and his mother Angela Mason raise money to purchase a wheelchair accessible van to go to his medical appointments and church. From birth Anthony was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy which prevents him from walking or standing.
The members of Promise Land Church would like for you to prayerfully consider partnering with us to help Anthony and Angela in the following ways by donating: Silent Auction items, food for the carnival, children prizes for games and dunk tank winners, pay a fee to setup a vendor’s table, volunteer as a carnival helper or contribute financially.
Anthony is 27 years old with cerebral palsy. He is the most patient God loving young man you will meet and he was born an absolutely gorgeous and healthy baby. At 2 1/2 months old, Anthony had a sudden infant crib death episode, but death was not in Gods plan !!! Over the years Anthony has exceeded all the drs expectations. Even though he had many challenges in his life, he is a true inspiration!!! Anthony through the yrs started off in special education where teachers saw that Anthony had more in him than everyone thought. He then went into general classes. He continued through school where Anthony graduated from Wayne high school with a certificate. Anthony was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy at 1 yr old and it does affect his mind as well as his body even though he can repeat things over sometimes just to annoy you because he like to play tricks !!!! He always has a smile on his face. And makes you laugh.
All proceeds will be presented to Anthony the following Sunday during morning worship.
Donations can be sent to Anthony’s Gofund Me here: https://gofund.me/8b987446

Event Details
Community leaders will use education and historical perspectives to spark respectful dialogue about topics with racial undertones in Fort Wayne.“History Heals: A Fort Wayne Community Conversation” takes place Tuesday, June 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Allen County Public Library auditorium downtown, 900 Library Plaza. The event is free and open to the public.
History Heals is intended to bridge the gap between historical racism and issues that Fort Wayne residents are experiencing today. Local leaders will give short overviews of three topics that have circulated publicly in recent months: blackface; mass incarceration and jail reform; and a movement to change the name of Calhoun Street.
“Ideally, History Heals will serve as an agent for enlightenment and healing, as well as an opportunity for honest discussion,” said event organizer Sharon Tubbs. “We want people to leave with a greater understanding about these issues and different perspectives. This event is not the solution, but a catalyst to delve deeper into these topics. It’s a spark for us to listen to the past and to one another.”
